Internet Access in Abaco

Many guests discover that they can avoid bringing a laptop at all, and still satisfy their need to check email at one of the internet locations in the lobby of the Treasure Cay Hotel or at the community library.  Both locations charge a small fee ($3 to $5) for 30 minutes of use.

For guests who are interested in bringing a laptop so they can have internet access from the villa, the Beach Villa community has its own hotspot for guests!  All you need is a laptop equipped with a wireless antenna.   In Treasure Cay, the Marina and Shopping Area are also local hotspots for access.

Your laptop must have be equipped for wireless service. The equipment can be built in or you can purchase a WiFi PCMCIA card from your local computer store or mail-order supplier.

Please keep in mind that this kind of standard equipment is only effective within a few hundred feet of a Wireless Access Point (a 'hotspot').  Wireless generally works just fine in Abaco, but it helps to have a little knowledge of the system that you are dealing with to make it work correctly.
